We have provided these helpful hints
to assist you in completing your Direct Loan MPN. You can also find
assistance on
the Direct Loan MPN
website.
There are 10 steps to complete
the Direct Loan MPN. Please allow approximately 30 minutes to complete
all of the steps.
If you exit the web site before submitting your signed
Direct Loan MPN in Step 9 and return later, you’ll have to
start over with Step 1. You will not be able to save
your Direct Loan MPN. Also, the session will “timeout” after
30 minutes of inactivity. The next time you access the
web page, you will be redirected to Step 1.
You must first have a federal PIN before
you can sign your Direct Loan MPN online. If you do not have a PIN,
you may request
one from the official
PIN site.
It takes approximately one week to receive your PIN.
Some links in the electronic Direct Loan MPN web
site will open a new browser window, called a pop-up
window, instead
of changing the screen that is currently open. In Step
8, you will be asked to review your signed Direct Loan MPN. A pop-up
window will appear with your completed Direct Loan MPN and confirmation
number. Write down the confirmation number and minimize
the window. For Step 9, return back to the Direct Loan MPN site (your
first browser window), confirm your Direct Loan MPN and submit it
to the US Department of Education.
Use the tab key instead of the
enter key on your computer’s
keyboard to move between input boxes on the screen.
It is important to properly exit the Direct Loan MPN web site when
your work is complete. To ensure your session information
is clear, click the Exit button located at the bottom
of each page within the Direct Loan MPN website.
If you do not wish to complete an online Direct Loan MPN, please
contact the Student Financial Aid Office for a paper
copy.
