To be eligible to receive aid from any of the programs
listed, you must:
- Have financial need, except for some loan
programs.
- Have a high school diploma,
or a General Education Development (GED) Certificate, or passed
an ability-to-benefit
test approved by the U.S. Department of Education.
- Enroll at MU in a degree-seeking
program. Important: students enrolled in the Easy Access
Program are not eligible
for federal financial aid.
- Be a U.S. citizen, permanent
resident or an eligible non-citizen.
- Have a valid Social Security number.
- Be making satisfactory
academic progress according to MU standards.
- Not be
in default on any federal educational loan.
- Not owe
an overpayment on a federal educational grant.
- Be registered
with the Selective Service unless exempt. Females,
males under 18, males on active duty in
the U.S. armed forces, and males born before January 1, 1960 are
exempt. Citizens of the Federated States of Micronesia,
the Marshall Islands, or Palau are also exempt.
Additionally, recipients of the
state funded aid programs must
be Missouri residents.
